Portadown Defenders Flute Band is a loyalist marching flute band from County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Established in 1971, the band is made up by both flautists and percussionists - consisting of a bass drum and a side (snare) drum; as well as a colour party and several drum majors, who lead the band.

With the new season fast approaching, a little clean-up on here was much needed. Unfortunately, the website was left idle for most of 2007, with a lot less reports being added than in previous years. Now, to prevent that, the website is no longer a one man band (excuse the pun) with several other members of the band helping out throughout the year.

Our main aim is to provide what we have been doing for nearly four years - providing information and reports on parades from up and down the country - from a personal level.
As many bandsmen, bandswomen and indeed band fanatics may have realised, a lot of individual websites have been left neglected in recent times. This almost certainly has happened due to the popularity of online discussion forums such as Ulster Bands Forum and The Bands Forum. Such forums allow people from right across the globe to interact and discuss all issues about the marching band scene.

Saying that, we have installed our own new forum - so make sure you click 'Forum' at the top, and register!
