Saturday 5th August - Clogher Protestant Boys - Waringstown
We made the short journey to Waringstown, for the Cloger Protestant Boys annual band competition. This parade was very
well supported by both bands and spectators, with more than 50 bands in attendance,
with bands travelling from all over Ulster. Weather wise, it was a brilliant
night to watch a parade, although not so to be parading in, due to the sticky heat.
Three out of our last four parades, we have paraded with 18 flutes, parading with an overall total of 31 members, consisting
of 3 colour party, 1 drum major, 7 drums, 2 bass drummers and 18 flutes. No surprise that our best played tune on the night
was Eaton Boat Song, which is becoming a favourite within our band. A short clip of the band playing this tune
can be downloaded below.
Like the night previous, Armagh True Blues were in fine form, even though they marched with a smaller band. Cookstown band
Montober FB were playing well with small numbers. Donaghadee Fusiliers were one of the best bands on the night, who
always sound loud regardless of the numbers they parade with.
Well done Clogher Protestant Boys on a well marshaled parade.
