Friday 19th May - Donaghadee Fusiliers - Donaghadee On a slightly wet night, we travelled to the seaside town of Donaghadee in support of the Fusiliers. 33 bands attended this parade with bands coming from near and far, with the the farthest visitors coming from Lisbellaw. The parade was well under way on our arrival, with bands parading the slightly adjusted route. On the night we paraded with 3 colour party, 1 drum major, 6 drums, 1 bass drummer and 16 flutes; an overall total of 27 members. We got off to a slow start, but we soon picked up coming into the centre of the town playing Marching On, which gained vocal support from the Leeds United supporters. We played a wide range of tunes from Grenadiers to the Sash. Our drum major picked up a third spot in the junior drum major category, which is a great confidence booster; well done to him. One of the best bands on the night were Drumderg Loyalists, which is evident from the results. Ulster Grenadiers got off to a good start as well, with their powerful drum corp. Ballykeel Loyal Sons of Ulster were also on top form, playing with their traditional North-Ulster style drumming.
