On the start of a long weekend, we travelled to the Smallall town of Dromore to support Kinallen Flute Band. A large number
of Bands were on parade through the tight streets, with queues of Bands forming to try and get on parade. The weather
gained the approval from most Bands members, as it was dry and a satisfactory temperature. As per usual for a Dromore parade,
large crowds had gathered around the square.
This parade seen our Band have our lowest turnout of the year so far - with a mere 3 colour party, 1 Drum Major, 4 Drums, 1 Bass Drummer and
11 Flutes; an overall total of 20 members. Suprisingly, the Flute core played well for the unusual 11 Flutes. The best played
tune on the night was Eaton Boat Song, which was played near the finishing point. To prevent further queues, our parade
route was cut short, which in turn was welcomed by our members who have an early start for Bangor the next day.
With so many Bands on parade, the talent was endless. The usual premier Bands all playing to a high standard, which was
challenged by the likes of the Smallall Bands like Star of Down Maghera, Pride of Lagan Valley and Queensway, Derriaghy.
On the Melody front, both Ballylesson Old Boys Old Boys and Mourne Young Defenders were playing exceptionally well; with Mourne's
Bass Drummer giving it his all.
