For the first of two parades, we supported local outfit Pride of Stramore, in the small town of Gilford. The weather was
much better than what the host band had received in previous years. Like ourselves, a lot of bands were attempting to parade
the route early, to travel to Dromore were Skeogh FB were holding their annual parade.
Crowds had sparsely lined the parade route to watch the passing bands.
We had paraded with 5 colour party, 1 drum major, 8 drums, 1 bass drummer and 16 flutes; a total of 31 members. It wasn't
until our second tune, when we were sounding our best, to the tune of Marching On. Our latest tune, Red Army,
is being played to a greater standard each week, and was especially sounding well on parade.
A lot of strong bands were on parade, most noticeable was Mourne Young Defenders, who were loud in every department. Their
march and discipline is nothing short of admirable. Downshire Guiding Star were also on top form, who have greatly improved
over the winter.
If you have any pictures or videos of our band at this parade, please get in contact.
