With the 2007 season really kicking off in a few weeks, we held our second and final indoor concert in the pre-season. Taking place in Carleton Street Orange Hall,
Portadown, three bands thankfully supported the event - Craigavon Protestant Boys Flute Band, Armagh True Blues Flute Band and South
Belfast Young Conquerors Flute Band. Through the night, crowds filled the hall while being entertained by 'DJ Loy-Al', until the first band took to the floor.
That first band was Craigavon Protestant Boys, who played with 4 drums and 7 flutes, as well as bearing four standards at the front of the band. They
played a selection of traditional and modern tunes, as welcomed by those watching on.
After a short break, the next band up was Armagh True Blues. They impressed a lot of people on the night and are posed to be one of the top bands of
the new season. They marched on to the floor with 7 drums and 12 flutes. The 'Blues' produced a lot of noise, especially coming from their bass drum.
The third and final band to take part in the event was South Belfast Young Conquerors, who were smartly dressed in their shirt and trousers. Like Craigavon Protestant Boys,
they played behind three standards, with 7 drums and 16 flutes, the biggest band on the night. Similar to Armagh True Blues, they too produced a lot of noise,
coming from all sections of the band.
The night finished off with a raffle, a game of pitch and toss, an auction for a Portadown Defenders FB mirror and a disco.
We are grateful for those who contributed on the night. Your continued support is very much appreciated. Special thanks must go to:
