Friday 18th April - Loyal Sons of Benagh - Newry On this mild Friday evening we headed off to the youngest city in the province: Newry, in support of the Loyal Sons of Benagh FB. The parade was the largest yet for the host band, with 37 bands supporting. 
The usual top performers were playing well, including Clogher Protestant Boys and Drumderg Loyalists, an ever popular band, walking with a large band and sounding crisp. The Small Blood and Thunder was well represented on the night, as Upper Falls played very well and South Fermanagh, who deserved their first place in the category. Lambeg Orange and Blue were also in great form walking with only four drums and ten flutes. Armagh True Blues were certainly out in full force with superb volume coming from all sections especially their large flute core. We paraded the short route at about 9pm, with 1 colour party, 8 drums, 1 bass drum and 17 flutes. We got off to a good enough start, with Red Army sounding well. Although we put on an average performance, we surprisingly managed to collect a 3rd place in the Small Blood and Thunder category.
