Thursday 15 July 2010

Another 12th and 13th of July has now passed. The band enjoyed a fantastic turnout of 5 Colour Party, 3 Drum Majors, 15 Drums, 2 Bass Drummers and 24 Flutes in Lurgan for the County Armagh Demonstration and the same in Scarva for the Royal Black Preceptory parade.
The band also had the pleasure of leading Corcrain Purple Rocket LOL 339 on the Twelfth and Cocracin RBP 141 in Scarva, and would like to thank them both for the two days.

The next big event on our calendar, is our Annual Band Parade and Competiton which is taking place on Friday 20 August 2010.

We can now confirm that our Annual Band Parade and Competition, will be held on Friday 20 August 2010.

Last year, Portadown welcomed 55 bands to take part in the towns biggest parade. A similar number is expected this year to challenge Mourne Young Defenders Flute, Kilkeel for the Best Overall Trophy.

The parade kicks off at 7pm, from Joseph Street in the town.

Happy New Year to all our members and supporters.

Our 2010 calendar will kick off with our annual visit to the Bentley Night Club, Knockloughrim, for a fundraiser held by Omagh True Blues Flute Band.
We will be running a bus to this event, which will be leaving Gary's Bar at 7.30pm.

Band practise will resume from the winter break the following Monday, 18 January at 8pm in Clounagh Orange Hall. Anyone looking to join the band is encouraged to attend the opening practises to gain tuition before the Marching Season commences in March.
